Description: Initial duties will be to support project planning, estimating, proposal generation, flight packet preparation for photography and /or lidar, coordination with production staff, and client interface. Successful candidate will also create and prepare marketing materials and coordinate, attend, and oversee booth at trade shows and conferences. This position may also require some travel.
Production, management, or marketing experience in geospatial disciplines desired. Candidate must have the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Must have extensive knowledge in PC-computers and programs including MS Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint. Experience with Photoshop and other Adobe Creative Suite Programs is a plus. Candidate must also possess the ability to learn new software programs such as for flight planning. Must be a self-starter, be able to pay attention to details, and possess the ability to multitask.
Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree required.

Description: The employee occupying the position of this class is responsible for creating, editing, and maintaining GIS data; producing maps, reports, illustrations, and charts of GIS data; supporting other Borough department staff to properly access, query, and analyze GIS data. The position inventories, archives, and provides documentation for an extensive library of GIS data, topographic and photographic imagery, and mapping products.
Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, in Geographic Information Systems, geography, cartography or related discipline. Four (4) years of progressively responsible cadastral or mapping experience operating ArcMap, ArcInfo, ArcView and/or other ESRI GIS software. Geographic Information Systems Professional (GISP) certification preferred.
Incident Command System classes required within one (1) year of hire: ICS-100, IS-700.

enrollment in related college level coursework may be substituted for the Bachelor degree. An Associate degree in surveying,

Must have a valid Alaska driver’s license and a acceptable driving record.
